Doris Carlene Burton Eckroade - BURTON
I am trying to find information on my father's family.  My father is Carl Tony Burton, born in Moberly, Missouri on January 17, 1912.  He married Pansy Marie Kirkendoll, my mother. My grandfather is Henry Tony Burton, born in Moberly on March 25, 1888; he was called Tony. Tony married Anna Elizabeth May Wilson and they had two children, Carl and Irene. It is believed that Henry Tony Burton's parents were Henry Duncan Burton and Louella Virginia Hiefner (Heifner?).  Henry Duncan Burton was born Dec. 1, 1858 (?).  Louella was born March, 1857 (?).  I think they were both born in Missouri.
It is possible that Henry Duncan Burton's parents were (Rev) James Burton, born in 1821 in Kentucky and Rebecca Kirby born in 1823 in Kentucky. Would greatly appreciate any information. 5/31/98

Bob Roach - DAVIS (Old Legal Documents)

I found some old legal papers dated 1934 from Randolph County.  1) A chatel mortgage in the amount of $20.00.  A Clarence DAVIS mortgaged some livestock to a W.R. DAVIS.  The notary was Byrd Weishold(?).  The town of Renick is mentioned.  2) A promissary note for the same amount but not notarized.  They are both original.  If anyone can show a connection, they are welcome to the documents.  1/28/98

Judy Crain - TERRELL/JOHNSON/PATTON/DAVIS

Would some kind person out there with access to cemetery listings in Randolph County look for the burial place of my gggrandparents: Katherine (TERRILL/TERRELL) JOHNSON, James A. PATTON and Susan (Williams) PATTON?  Katherine and her husband W.C. (William) were living in Renick, Randolph County, at the time of her death 21 August 1878.  Susan was the widow on James A. PATTON and died 17 October 1913.  She may have been living with her son by a previous marriage, James Ramsey DAVIS, Jr., at the time she died.  Her parents are buried in the Fayette City Cemetery, Howard County, but I don't think she is buried there.  James A. PATTON died sometime between the 1880 and 1900 censuses.  He was married previously and may be buried with his first wife, sorry I don't know her name, or with Susan.  Can anyone help?  I am "Stumped in Colorado". 1/21/98
