BAKER

George Washington BAKER, born October 1869, was the son of James andMahulda Jane (Roberts) Baker of Macon Co, Missouri. He was marriedto Dora McDaniel. They owned and operated the telephone office forseveral years at Jacksonville and then relocated to Huntsville. InHuntsville, Dora operated a millery shop on Main St. I suspect thatthey died at Huntsville and are buried nearby. Can anyone supplyinformation on George and Dora?

I am looking for any information about the SNELL family in RandolphCounty, I belive they lived in Higbee. William SNELL, wife LauraHuff SNELL had three daughters. Ethel SNELL married Robert ErnestLewis in Randolph County 1904. They lost a child Thomas in July1908. They divorced in 1905 and remarried at Higbee in 1907 laterdivorced again and for the last time in 1908. The other daughterswere Effie SNELL and Hazel SNELL. Any information would be of greathelp. Looking for any info on this family. The Randolph county web page haslistings for Edgar CAULKINS and Rella L. CAULKINS buried in the GrandPrairie Cemetery. I have info that Edward M. CAULKINS lived inRandolph County and/or Macon County at one time. I have Edward'sbirth date as July 1878 but the web page shows a birth date for Edgaras July 1877. IS THIS THE SAME MAN? Maybe a misspelling ormis-deciphering of a gravestone? Edward M. was a son of Samuel andAmanda CAULKINS.

POINDEXTER

I am researching Col. John A. POINDEXTER, a guerilla of some reputeduring the Civil War, and a resident of Randolph County.

POINDEXTER is buried at the Antioch Cemetery at Milton, MO, eastof Moberly. Does anyone live near that area? I would grateful ifanyone could take a photo of his grave, AND see whether family isburied beside him.

John POINDEXTER was survived by widow, Martha K. POINDEXTER, adaughter, and one or two sons. The sons' names are illegible 3different census years, but his daughter was Mary E. POINDEXTER,married Andrew J. HAYES in 1869, Randolph Co. If anyone has anyknowledge of this family, please contact me!

TRUMAN, HARRY

I am currently researching the activities of the Union Scout, CaptainHarry Truman who operated in Chariton and Randloph Counties in 1864and 1865. He is not related to the President. I have not been ableto locate where he lived prior to the war or determine what happenedto him after. He appears to have held the rank of Captain and workeddirectly for General Rosecrans. He was quartmartialled for theoutrages he committed in those counties. Any help is appreciated.

CARTLIDGE, LEEK

Seeking information concerning the marriage of Charles CARTLIDGE toAnna (Unknown). They were married in (probably) Moberly, Missouriaround 1875. It is know that five children were born to this union;Bill in 1876, Edward in 1881, Walter in 1884, Sarah, and Albert. Anna was born about 1857 in Missouri and appeares in the 1910 censusin Pittsburg County, Oklahoma in 1910, stating that she was themother of 10. She was dead by 1912. Very little is known aboutCharles CARTLIDGE other than he was born in England and his fatherwas Charles CARTLIGE and his mother was Katherine LEEK.
